Thanks for posting this Eldo.  It's pretty long so I haven't actually listened to the whole thing however what I've heard in the last 50 minutes is good.

The moral of the story is that all of the scam methods of getting backlinks to boost rankings will backfire and actually hurt you.  You used to hear about the importance of "Blasting" your content all over the web.  You used to hear that you could re-purpose your content by "spinning" your blog posts as articles and posting them around the web.  This was called "article marketing".

All methods of automating your link building, syndicating content or blasting your content all over the web will kill you.

There is only one way to get good organic traffic.  Create original, high quality content and actively participate in some social networking system.  At BYOBWebsite we create a lot of original content, we actively participate in YouTube, Vimeo, Facebook and Twitter and we interact with a number of bloggers in our business.

Google Panda has been GREAT for us.  Our traffic is growing at a comfortable rate.

Yes, the webinar is quite long, but lots of helpful info on it (although they do pitch their product in the last part).

Rick, what do you think about using SocialAdr?

Have you (or any other BYOBW members) tried it?

Getting backlinks is the toughest part of SEO — very time consuming, but there's no way round it.

I'm not familiar with SocialAdr.  Generally I would guess that anything that automates interaction with social networks is going to be considered spammy.  We do it on the level of HootSuite but that's as far as we're comfortable going.  As it is we have 5 people working on the whole social networking thing at any given time.

I don't actually know if it's working, but we are putting the hours into it.

Rick

Thanks for your helpful response.

Hootsuite is only valuable if you rely on Twitter as a social networking channel.
