Thanks to BYOBWebsites I have a nice shiny new real estate website. Now I'd like to replace one of my old websites BiltmoreEtc.com with a website similar to the sweet, red-hot, supercharged, website I have in PhoenixDesertRidge.com. Is there a way to copy the layout of my new site and then just fill in the blanks with the brand and content of the BiltmoreEtc site?

I just want the WP Thesis features so that I can have total control of my site instead of having to talk to the "web-guy" every time I need to ad something to my site.

John, you'll end up customizing Thesis so it looks like your old site and then cutting and pasting the content from the existing pages to the new pages.  You'll also need to pay very close attention to page slugs so that you either mimic the existing site urls or you'll create 301 redirects from your old pages to your new pages.

There is no "covert this site to WP" plugin.  Sorry.

Sounds like it might be easier fo someone at my skill level to just start from scratch with Thesis. What do you think Rick?

I think you'll find that converting a site to WordPress and Thesis is easier than you think.  Now that you have created your own from scratch.

Is it something you would want to demo in a live session?wink If so, I know the perfect candidate. The website is http://www.BiltmoreEtc.com

John, that's a great idea.  I'd love to do it.  Especially if it can wait a few weeks.  It would be 3-4 weeks "Converting an HTML Site to Thesis".  We'd put it on a development server, get it all together and then migrate it.

I think there would be a lot of interest in it and I'd be delighted to teach it based on your site.

Ok Rick; I'm glad to hear you are game. Do you want to schedule this now? Give me a couple of good dates for you and I will pick one of the dates you suggest.

Take a look at the website: http://www.BiltmoreEtc.com and let me know if it is something u r confident we can tackle.

It's definitely something we can do, I just need to find a place in the schedule for a 4 week class.

I will be interested in these lessons too. I have a static dreamweaver website with a wordpress / thesis blog. I have toyed with the idea of converting it all to wordpress / thesis. It would be great to know exactly what it would entail if I do decide to make the switch.
