In this session we demonstrate how to style the background of the footer of the Agility Skin for Thesis 2. If you’ve got a background image that should span the footer area, you have the choice to make it the background image of the body which sits behind the areas or combine the top footer area and bottom area into a single area and make it the background image of that area.
Member: And also Rick, the same principles here would work with the footer areas that you created for this theme as well, right?
Rick: That’s exactly right, yeah. So if you’ve got a gradient image that you want as the background here then you would put it in the footer. Well, just say for example. Now notice that this has two footer areas, the top footer area where I’ve specified the background color. We’ve got a background color that I’ve specified. And the bottom footer area with a different background color.
Now if you are going to… if you’ve got a background gradient that should span both of those things, you have a couple of choices. One of them is to make it a background image of the body. You could make it a background image of the body which sits behind the areas. So you make it a background image of the body and then make it bottom center instead of top center and it’ll always go down to the bottom of the page then.
Or you could combine the top footer area and the bottom footer area into a single area and then make it the background image of that area.
Member: Got it. Alright, cool. Wow, I’m going to have some fun with this.
Rick: Yeah. I hope you do. But this should make adding those kinds of things though fairly easy because the stuff is already laid out for you. You just have to pick the right one and put the background in and it should all shake out just fine.
