Good morning everybody and welcome to this special seminar that I humorously entitled “How to Eat an Elephant”. I’ve been teaching small businesses owners how to build WordPress websites for a number of years now and I have observed people, including myself when I started to build my first site, not really knowing where to start.

Working on the Process vs “How Tos”

I see people struggling with what to work on first and what to work on next, how to organize their site and how to begin the process. I’ve spent most of my time teaching people how to do specific tasks but not nearly as much time teaching people how to go through the process of site building. To fix that I decided to create a series of seminars to help people figure out what to do rather than just working on all of the nuts and bolts and so that’s what we’re going to do today.

This seminar is actually an demonstration of a coaching package that I offer here on the site, the Start Right coaching package. We’re going to essentially go through this process with Steve who is creating a new video blog site.

We’re going to begin with a conversation with Steve about the site he wants to develop.

The Site We’ll Be Working with Today

Rick: So Steve tell me about your site.

Steve: Well, it’s called Astute Athlete and it’s going to teach people all the various things I’ve learned over the years as an athlete. I’m 60 years old and I pretty much weigh what I weighed when I was on the high school track team and in a lot of ways I’m stronger now than I was when I was younge. I’m more flexible and just over the years I’ve picked up a lot of things I want to share with people.

Rick: And so how are you planning on showing that?

Steve: Primarily through video and I actually did get one loaded up it’s waiting on my Youtube channel so you tell me how to bring it over, get that over and get loaded in.

Rick: Well why don’t you post the link to your Youtube channel in the chat window.

Steve: Okay, you’re going to have to show me how to do that.

Rick: It’s at the bottom, there’s that Go to Webinar control panel thing that’s sitting there on your screen and down at the bottom there is a section called Chat. If you click the plus sign beside that there’s a little thing below that that says Type Your Message Here, can you see that?

Steve: Okay. Youtube channel..

Rick: Well just go ahead. If you’re at your channel just copy it and paste it in there.

Steve: Oh, I have that channel right here so just copy and we’ll throw that on if that’s what you’re looking for. That’s the link to the actual channel and my first thing is up.

Rick: So here it is, here’s your new Youtube channel.
