This seminar focuses on the basics and is a great place to start for beginning Thesis users since no coding is required for any of the customization shown. How to Customize the Post Box in Thesis 2.1

In this seminar we look at a significant restyling and reorganization of the Thesis Post Box. This involves a bunch of very simple CSS concepts as well as a more advanced concept – floats. We start by looking at the html structure of the sample site and discuss strategies for imitating it in the current site. Next we take an in depth look at the float property as a tool for arranging various elements in the post box. Then we style the resulting structure. Finally, we make adjustments to our media queries to make the whole thing responsive.

Introduction to Creating Custom Skins in Thesis 2.1

Thesis 2.1 introduces a whole new set of tools for making and distributing custom skins. Those tools include a new API for Design, Content and Display options, a new developer friendly skin editor interface, new “valet methods” for incorporating custom programing and new tools for copying and distributing skins and parts of skins. In this seminar we will review some of those tools as we create a simple skin from scratch. This seminar includes some light PHP and some significant HTML and CSS.

How to Completely Remove Thesis 2.1 from your Database

Sometimes it is essential (especially in troubleshooting) to completely remove Thesis 2.1 from your site and reinstall it from scratch. Unlike most themes, simply uninstalling Thesis and deleting it doesn’t delete the settings it stores in the database. In this seminar I demonstrate how to completely remove Thesis so you can reinstall it as if it were installed for the very first time.

Upgrade a Thesis 1.8.5 Site to Thesis 2.1 Using the Classic Responsive Skin

In this seminar we take an existing Thesis 1.8.5 site and upgrade it to Thesis 2.1 using the Classic Responsive skin. We do this on a clone of the actual site and once styled the way we want it, we transfer the Thesis settings to the actual live site. This seminar assumes that you already have a basic knowledge of how to use Thesis 2.1.

How to Upgrade the Agility Nude Skin for Thesis 2 from version 1 to version 2.1

Until now WooCommerce and Thesis 2 didn’t work together. Here we introduce a fix for that problem: the WooCommerce Thesis Integrator plugin. In this seminar, we show how to install WooCommerce and set up its pages and templates. Then we show how to install the Integrator plugin and configure Thesis 2 to use it. Finally, we look at ways to customize the look and feel of the site using Thesis 2 tools. These videos are available to the public.

How to Create a Feature Box with Graphics, Text and an AWeber Form in Thesis 2

We demonstrate how to create a highly customized AWeber opt-in form in a feature box in Thesis 2. We go through the steps of taking the HTML from the AWeber form, adding it to the site and customizing the code. We then show how to add a background image to the form, add and style a submit button and style the form fields. This is an intermediate level seminar due to the amount of time we spend working with and refining the css code.

How to Create a Custom Opt-in Form with MailChimp & Thesis 2

We demonstrate how to create a highly customized MailChimp opt-in form in a feature box in Thesis 2. We go through the steps of taking the HTML from the MailChimp form, adding it to the site and customizing the code. We then show how to add a background image to the form, add and style a submit button and style the form fields. How to Create an apple.com Style Menu in Thesis 2

In this seminar we show how to create a simple, clean menu with no drop downs for a Thesis 2 website just like the menu you see on the apple.com site. We take you through the steps of adjusting menu item widths so they spread evenly across the page, creating a gradient background using your own color scheme in ColorZilla and adding border and radius to the menu. We demonstrate how to create this type of menu in our Agility Nude skin but you can do this in any Thesis 2 skin.

How to Create a Landing Page in Thesis 2 & Agility

This seminar demonstrates how to create, style and add content to a landing page using the Agility skin but these lessons can easily apply to other skins as well. We recreate a landing page example from www.formstack.com, taking you step by step through the process. Landing pages are perfect for focusing visitor’s attention on taking a specific action so they are great for sales pages, for capturing emails, or whatever specific action you want them to take.

Skin Management in 2.0.1

This seminar covers the aspects of skin management in Thesis 2.0.1. We show how to install and preview a skin and how to use the skin selector interface. Then we talk about how to update a skin and what the updates do. From there we show how to use the skin manager to backup, restore, export and import skin data and, finally, how to copy and export a full skin.
