Log in to your Dashboard without a Login Button
Welcome back to Part 3 of Lesson 3 of the How to Build a Website Tutorial Series. In this part of the lesson we are going to learn how log in to our website even if there’s no Login link. You may recall that on our site, the way that we got into the dashboard was to come down here and select this log in button.
The very first time I installed WordPress, I did something that made that log in button go away and it terrified me and I thought about simply re installing the site from scratch not realizing that there was a very simple solution to this problem because the chances are, you won’t have a log in link like this on your site.
Ultimately this will probably become your default method for logging in to your site. That is, while you are at your site or after typing in your site address, all you do is type a forward slash in there and then type in wp hyphen admin (wp-admin) and that brings up your log in screen. Then you can type in your log in information, enter your username and your password and there you go, you’re back to your dashboard. It’s as simple as that, the chances are, that will eventually become your normal method of logging in.
That wraps up Part 3 of Lesson 3. In Part 4, we are going to continue configuring WordPress.
