Hello Rick,

I am having a hard time to resize my feature image for the Orbit Slider Plugin. I am aware the short codes but just not sure where to input them. Can you please help me out how I can resize my image width and height? I want it to be 618 x 286px

Thanks

John

So what you have to do is:

1.  Set the Orbit Slider custom image size to the size that you want

2.  Either add the images to the media library that are exactly that size or

3.  Install the "Regenerate Thumbnails" plugin and regenerate the images sizes already loaded into the media library.

However, your images are currently actually 618 x 246 and there is nothing that can be done to them in WordPress that will make them 40 pixels taller.

Your best bet is to create the images exactly the size you want them to be and add them to the media library that size.

Hey Rick,

Thanks for your response. Matter of fact that I actually PS the image to exact size of 618x286 for the orbit slider. Is there anyways that I could custom css on the orbits slider side instead? Lastly, I did went over couple videos that you provided for how to custom orbit slider images, but it seems those procedures are for Thesis 1.85 instead of 2. Thanks

Johnny, the behavior of the Orbit Slider doesn't depend on the theme.  Sizes for the images are going to be the same whether you use Thesis 1.8.5, Thesis 2.1 or Genesis.

The images shown on your site at the moment say that their native size is 618 x 246.  If you have images that are 618 x 286 they aren't being used by the slider.

No you cannot control the image size via CSS.  Just change the slides you are displaying to those the correct size.  If you think you are already doing that - you aren't.  When I download your pictures from your slider they are 618 x 246.

Hello Rick,

That is really wired. On my end, I am showing 618x286 in the media library, but not sure why the Orbit Slider are not picking up. Any advice?

It probably means that you have set the custom size for the orbit slider slides to 618 x 248.  Go set the custom size to 618 x 286 and see what happens.

You set that value in the Orbit Slider Helper box

Hey Rick,

Thanks for getting back again. I am not sure what did you mean by that. Did you mean readjust in the Thesis CSS packages? If that is the case, I did not see an option inside the agility widget styles for the slider for inputting the heights. Do I need to hard coded in the additional CSS? Thanks

Johnny, have you watched the videos on using the Orbit slider and the Orbit Slider Helper Box?  If not, make sure you watch them.  It will all become clear once you do so.

But download one of the images in the slider.  It's actual size is 618x246.  Nothing is going to make it 286pixels tall when it was created at 246 pixels tall.

Here is an image I just downloaded from your slider
