I am trying to flush my Nav Menu left but I'm having a problem doing it.

I'm working with the BYOB Agility Nude Skin on my site:  http://hairagainblog.com/ddblog/

I tried changing the "Main Menu" and "Header Menu" from Centered to Flush Left, but it doesn't change.

Any ideas?

This is because of your custom CSS.  Remove the Custom CSS related to the menu and it will return to its natural left alignment

Okay, thanks. That worked but now the Headings on the sidebar widgets are also flushed left.

http://hairagainblog.com/ddblog/band/

I looked into centering them through the Skin Design section, but don't see that option. Is that also a Custom CSS issue? If so, can you post that code?

Also, I now have moved the Nav Menu on top of the image on my split header. I would like to move the Nav down so its not slammed against the top. Can you suggest a way to do that?

Thx.

If you have properly upgraded to the latest version of Agility you can change that in Skin Design under Main Sidebar Widget Headings

My Main Sidebar Widget Headings has: Font, Font Size and Text Color.

Mark - you are using an older version of Agility and either need to upgrade (or write your own custom CSS).

The correct procedures for upgrading can be found here.

Be sure to save your Skin Design options once you have completed the procedure.

…aaand I watched it to a point. I get no green button saying Update BYOB Agility Nude Skin.

I'm not kidding. embarassed

Any thoughts on why that is? If I have to manually download it from somewhere, that's fine, but the automatic green button is not showing up...

If you still don't see the upgrade notice today then you could consider manually installing the upgrade.

This essentially involves using ftp to over write the existing skin files.

Download the latest version of the skin, unzip it and then upload all of the files to the same location as the skin.  This over writes the existing files with the new.

However, you should see the upgrade notice every 24 hours.

Okay, did that. But the design did not look the same. So, I re-Saved on the Skin Design page. That brought back some of the design, but not all. Looks like I will have to go back and re-do alot. Hope you will be around for more questions.

Okay, working my way back up, the Nav Menu is now Centered. I made both the Main Menu and Header Menu Flush Left, but its stays Centered.

 Any ideas?

PS - what is the difference between the Main Menu and Header Menu? Arent they the same?

Unfortunately that *should* have brought back ALL of the design.  Changing files does not change the skin settings, which reside in the database.

My suggestion would be to restore the backup you created in the skin manager before you began the upgrade.  That would certainly restore ALL of your original design settings without affecting any of the new files.

No, the header menu and the main menu are not the same thing.  The main menu styles create a set of generic styles that are then overridden by other menu style settings.

Yeah, I guess I haven't actually released the 2.1.8 version of the skin yet.

Oh boy, this has been a crazy whirlwind. My client now wants the nav menu to be centered and despite the fact that I made it Centered in the Header Menu and Main Menu, the nav stay Flush Left.

Any ideas?

OK, so make sure you restore your default Skin CSS (nothing else) and then save your design options.  That will make your current settings center the menu.

Now this assumes that you haven't customized Skin CSS.

Mark, if you are using Agility 2.1.7.2 then you can't have successfully restored the defaults for Skin CSS.  If you had - the code below would be in your Skin CSS section.  Which it isn't.

However, you can simply add this code to your Custom CSS and leave the Skin CSS alone.

#header_columns .menu{display:inline-block;}
