Rick,

I have no idea if you have any time to help me on this.  I am losing my mind.  I have spent a solid 2 to 3 hours trying to find out why the file I typed out does NOT work and the file that you typed out for Lesson 3 practice files download does Work!

Here's my site at the end of lesson three.  I put text widgets in all the bottom 6 widgets but they only show up in the bottom left and right.

lesson3.jupiterjimsmarketingteam.info

the file that does NOT work when I upload mine, but DOES work when I upload yours is:  crtc_footer_html.php

If I could send you the file, maybe you could look at it for 5 minutes and the problem would jump right out at you.   On the other hand you are probably too busy and I understand that.

I have printed out the files and compared them line by line.   I have compared them on the computer line by line and I simply cannot find out how my file is different than yours.   Every semi-colon and angle bracket looks the same.

I realize that the my header is not working but I want to see if I can get the footer to work first.

Thanks for anything you might be able to do!

My guess is that there is something wrong with your register_sidebars function.  Remember that the names need to be the same in both places.  Go ahead and send me a copy of the file that has the register sidebars function and I'll take a look at it.

Rick,

Thanks for your help.  Ok, I sent that file to you in addition to the crtc_footer_html.php file that I created.    Obviously, I did something wrong or there is a typo in there somewhere.

Thanks,

Jupiter Jim

It took me an embarrassing long time to figure this out.   The names of the sidebars need to be identical in the register sidebar function and in the dynamic sidebar function.  They aren't in your code.

In your register sidebars function you call them Footer Area Widget 1 while in your dynamic sidebar function you call Footer Widget Area 1
