My customer makes posts on the Front Page of a site. He makes his post and uses a thumbnail for a chart that is included in the post because he has a large number of the posts on the front page. The heading of the post is clickable, and it takes the user to the post on the "single" page template.

The problem is that it displays on that single page eactly as on the Front page, with the thumbnail picture. I would like it to appear with a much larger picture with the text of the post below it. When he created the picture, he did create 4 different sizes as well as the thumbnail.

I could modify the single display template to display differently, but I don't want to mess with that template as it is used elsewhere on the site. So I can make a copy of the single and use that. I don't know how to tell the Front Page post to select a different template when the front page post heading is clicked.

Thanks

Brian

The only solution to this is to edit the Single template and choose a different image size for the featured image.

The only templates that could share the single template are custom templates.  You could change the single and then edit one of the customs so it uses a different featured image size.  Once done, copy that custom template to any other custom template that relies on the single template.
