Hi there,

So, I am trying my hand at Genesis and purchased the 'black friday deal'....

I am wondering if you know how to edit the featured posts widget, or if I need to create one from it.

The way the layout is, is that it shows the featured post, and then you can show a list of more posts from the category.

I am trying to figure out how to make it become two columns, so that the featured post is in 'one-half first' and the list is in 'one-half'.

Example....

 Thanks for your input!

I would just use 2 widgets.  One that showed the 1 featured post and another that showed the list of other posts.

You would be looking for a recent posts widget that would allow you to specify an offset (for the first post) and a category.

You might look at the Query Posts widget on WordPress.org for the second widget.

Thank you Rick, that is the one thing I struggle with is trying to add divs and styles within the widget ...seems my head is too used to Thesis, but client wants

to use Genesis, so figured I would learn it.

No, trying to avoid using a lot of plugins, so still tinkering with the code but using the sandbox version.

The Query Posts plugin is very well written - it essentially creates a widget that is similar to a Thesis Query Box.  I wouldn't hesitate to use it.  In fact I use it here.
