I hope this is the correct place to post my question.

I've installed the Agility skin and I'm in development mode.  But it seems like a lot of the functions are missing.  For example, I don't have all the options for picking color schemes.  And another example is that I don't have access to design dimensions.

The same applies for development mode with the Maintenance Mode skin.  For example in the skin editor the template is empty.  So no options to change the maintenance message etc.  Keeping in mind that I haven't activated any of the skins I mentioned.  I've only previewed and tried to edit in development mode while keeping my current skin (social triggers) active.

So my question is do I need to activate either of these skins to get the full functionality?  Or is it possible to have full access to all the design options in developer mode without activating the skins.

I hope my questions makes sense.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Gabi - welcome to the forum smile

I just double checked that functionality and it works just fine in my tests.  That is, you should be able to see the full compliment of Skin Design options if you go to the Skin Design page.

Can you post a screen shot of what you see when you preview Agility and go to Skin Design?

Hi Rick,

Thanks for the welcome and for getting back to me.  As you can see I am able to access some settings but not all the options.  I've change the link color as a test and that works on the front end.  But it looks like I'm only getting access to the color options that are available in social triggers.

So i'm not sure if social triggers is interfering in some way.  And also for the maintenance skin, the template in the skin editor is also empty.  So again, I'm not sure if it's social triggers getting in the way.

Gabi, you have an older version of Agility installed.  You should delete this version of Agility and download and install the latest version of Agility which is 3.2.2.

Once you've done that you should go to Skin Design >> Data Management and restore the defaults.

Then you will have everything Agility 3 has to offer.

Hi Rick,

I downloaded it from this page:

And after doing it for a second time I'm getting the (1) behind the file name in my downloads so it looks like I downloaded the same one as I originally did.

Am I missing something?  Is there another place I'm supposed to be downloading from?

Thanks 🙂

There are 2 links there - one for the latest version (3.2.2)  and one for the original 2.1 version.  Based on your screen shots you have installed the older one.

Yes both files have the same name they are byob_agility_nude.zip

When you download the latest version you need to insure that your download folder doesn't contain another version in it or your operating system will add a number to file name.  That number will break your installation.

So delete all copies of byob_agility_nude.zip from your downloads folder then download it again from the first download link on the page.

Hi Rick,

I followed your instructions and now have the latest version installed.  I'm now able to access all the features in the design section.  However, in the content section, I have no access to any of the settings except for the basics like attribution, copyright etc.

But I have no access to the options for typical header or footer settings.

Is there any way you could have a look at what's going on inside my WP admin area?  Let me know and I'll send over logins for you.

Thanks,

Gabi

Gabi - I've now looked at your site and the reason you didn't see those options is because you didn't restore the defaults.

Your issues stemmed from 2 problems.

  1. You installed an old version of Agility
  2. When you installed the new version you failed to restore defaults.

I'm saying this so that if others have the same problem they will know the solution.  You should be good to go now. smile
