For what it is worth perhaps it had to do with something at the server , as last night I also had issues getting to some videos -- but then in a few hours the problem seemed to self resolve and I got to the video I needed. Initially the videos would keep trying to come up but would not.

Then late last night I posted something to the forum and it replicated itself on the forum 4 times in the single post.

So perhaps something that was temporarily squirrelly  at the server. Just mentioning my experience for what it is worth.

I just tried again to download the video.

Instead of getting the appropriate file name I get -

la10-09-13a-style-block-of-content-in-thesis2_1_mp4?AWSAccessKeyId=AKIAJO7RPX2GGIITLWUA&Expires=1382222179&Signature=R6U8tGEh6lpZUqLKtvEcdLE8GKc%3D

I have tried this many times over the last couple of days.

I have noticed that I have quite often had this problem when I have tried to download too soon after a video has been posted.

So I just try again later.

Not so this time.

Today is the tomorow that I spoke about yesterday....

No change in the misbehaviour of the one of the four items that exhibits different characteristics to the other 3 that were posted in the same area at the similar time.

I would be very surprised if there is not a visible difference between the offender and the other 3 when viewed in Internet Explorer 9 at least.

This has gotta be a powerful clue to this common misbehaviour, often experienced in the shortish aftermath of the item having been posted.

Again for what it is worth -- I tried the referenced link and it comes up fine for me in IE9 and also in Firefox.

Hi Carolin

Can you tell me what method that you used to download this file.

I have just accessed the page in IE9, FF, and Chrome.

Identical results in all 3 - none.

In all 3 browsers selecting the arrow in the center of the image - to view the video - results in the same error message - a long 'slipstream' tye of error message.

What should I select in FF and/or Chrome to be the equivalent of the IE9 right click and download the file method, right clicking on the hotlink below the image. I could not see how to do this in those two browsers.

When I first noticed you had posted that you were having problems I tired to see if I could access and tried both Firefox and also IE and on both browsers and both occasions the video came up fine on the screen and it began to stream. On those occasions I did not attempt to download.

However seeing your note just now I tried again to both stream and to see if I might be able to download. And now I see that there is an error message when attempting to stream similar to the error message you posted above. And then I tested trying to download, and while there was a file that said it downloaded, when I tried to access and play it, there was no way to access the file, and error messages came up.

So it would seem some "cyber-squirrel" , or something, is gumming up with works and there is a problem with access on this video when I have tried it also.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Carolin.

That was helpfull to me in trying to determine whether I have a local browser issue and therefore are misleading others

and especially Rick.

Hopefully we have both been helpful in providing evidence of some sort of a SNAFU that Rick can track down.

Calling Keith....

Keith are you able to download the 'problem' video?

Does it behave on Rick's site the same as the first 3 in the batch of 4 recent Live Answers posts?

Testing ....

Further report -

Using a different PC running IE10 the results are as originally reported - something different

with the 4th video which will not display on the BYOB site, nor will it download.

Hope this may be helpful.

Brian

When you first posted the video was not displaying so I could not attempt to play.

Now it is displayed but will not play saying stream not found.

Unable to download.

Using Chrome and Win7

Just tried a Samsung Tablet. The video is not displayed just a grey bar.

Strangely in Firefox it says:

Watch the opening clip of this video to preview it, the full video is available to paid members - even though I am loogged in but now it plays a 1min preview.

Well, the fix made it worse - for some reason.  The lesson here is that THERE CANNOT BE a period in the filename (except for the extension).

We are renaming the files and reloading them on Amazon.
