My site seems to be getting decent speeds. it looks like the video on the homepage is the biggest issue. Any suggestions? See below:

Most of the "recommendations" - like "combine files" are using an out of date algorithm.  With http/2 it is faster to have several smaller files than a single large file.  Even Googles page speed test doesn't account for http/2

The real test is the speed of the site.  And you already know what's wrong with it.  Your video is 1.8 mb and is taking 4.5 seconds to download.

If site speed matters to you then you should lose the video.

  • After a closer look, more than 50% of the weight of your site is the video.
  • Java Script comes in 2nd place at over 20%.  If you lost the video and the slider that would significantly reduce the weight of the site.
  • Fonts - you are downloading way too many fonts.  You are downloading 10 different font files.  Merryweather and Volkorn account for 6 of those files
  • LeadPages - wow I never realized how bloated that system is.  It accounts for 3 of your font files and several js files
