Would you recommend using W3 Total Cache plug?

Since I am new at this, what do I need to do after I add the plug in? Any help in really appreciated. Cool

Yes Jackie, I do recommend it.  Interestingly enough I've learned that my pages load too slowly so I've been in the process of learning how to speed it up.  I hired an expert in the UK to go through my site and tweak my W3 Total Cache and hosting options.  As soon as I've worked all this out I'll share with everyone what I learned.

I do believe that simply installing W3TC will speed up the site without any modifications to the default settings.  HOWEVER, caching isn't a good idea while you are in the development phase of your site.  The reason is that you may not see the changes you've made because you are viewing a cached view of the page.

Rick - Thanks so much for your swift reply. I am finally home from the summer vacation trips, and am ready to work on the site.

  1. I am beginning today, now that you've posted most of what I need to really get going with the WPeStore lessons. I am going to do the work but not publish until I get it far enough to replace my current home page with the new home page/catalog.
  2. Warning: Be prepared for my many questions. Laugh
  3. Question: Since I have so much on the site, would it be beneficial to install the Total Cache now, or should I wait until I am complete with creating all of the new pages and they are published?

I would wait until you are finished with the site.  W3 Total Cache will just get in the way while you are editing.
