This whole process of setting up a Google My Business page and linking it to your website starts off by setting up a Gmail account. Now if you’ve already got a Gmail account, no problem you can start with your own Gmail account. But if you don’t have a Gmail account set up then you really need to start here.
Create a Google Account
I’m going to do this from a browser where I’m not logged in to a Gmail account. So we go to Gmail and if you click on Gmail for Google, this is signed in with a different account, it knows who I am. So what you want to do is click the Create an Account button.
We can see what it looks like in Internet Explorer without it attempting to interpret, let’s try that Gmail. Okay, there you go. So if you don’t have a Gmail account this is what you see when you go to that and you can click on Create an Account and then this part of it is very simple.
I’m going to add an email address, firstname.lastname@example.org, and then May 17th. I do want this actually attached to my real account so in this case, I’m putting real valid information here. Prove them I’m not a robot, I agree and go to the next step.
And now you’ve got a Gmail account. So with a Gmail account, you can then take the next step and create your Google+ page.
