This is part 3 of 6 in a series on Creating a Full Width Header Using BYOB Thesis Plugins. In this session we show how to configure the navigation menu using features available in the BYOB Thesis Navigation Menu plugin.

A bit and now I definitely want to move this down and I want to get rid of this background color for this and I want to change the text style. So I’m going to come down to the nav menu and under Nav Menu Styling, we’re going to get rid of the letter spacing, take it down to normal. We’ll remove all caps. I am going to make the menu text bold and I’m going to remove all menu background colors. While we’re at it, I’m also going to place the CSS, not in the head of the page but in a separate CSS file. I can save that and then I need to save… set some margin actually, in order to move that menu down. I’m going to let it do its thing for a second. Okay and I’m going to fix menu item… oh yeah, we’re going to do a margin here and I’m just going to give myself say, 30 pixels of margin.

Okay so my menu is showing up here twice so I need to adjust for that. The reason for that is the Thesis header widget calls the menu and so does Thesis itself. All I have to do is tell Thesis not to call the menu the first time. And so under here, under the Nav Menu Options, Menu Position and Visibility, right now it’s set to above the header. I’m just going to say don’t display. Now that’s not going to affect how it shows up in this part of the header. It just affects how it displays up here at the top.
