This is the seventh in a series of lessons on how to use the NextGen Gallery Plugin for WordPress. In this lesson look at how to sort images within a gallery.

Next thing to do is to use this sort gallery. Right now, the gallery images are sorted in the order that they were imported. But we could choose to sort them in a different order and the way you would do that is for example, you would take this image and you would drag it up to a new location. So I moved Laura up here to the 5th position and if we update the sort order and go back to the 1st gallery, you can see Laura is now on the 5th position. So it’s quite easy to resort the images.

And then if we come back… and we can also sort them you know, by other things like image id or filename. We can sort them by you know, all text or title text. We can sort them by date and time and we can sort them ascending or descending. So you have a fair bit of options on sorting your images.

Okay so back to the gallery…
