The next thing we’re going to do to customize the Thesis Classic Responsive skin is add our own copyright using the Thesis 2.1 attribution. That’s what’s going on down here, right? Let’s just save this.
Let’s come back over to the skin content, the attribution is down here. Iif we click on Attribution, you can add your own attribution text. So for example, if what we want to do is say, “Copyright 2013 – The Barking Chihuahua Cafe”. We’ll add that and if you save it, this has been replaced with that “The Barking Chihuahua Cafe”.
Add a Link to the Attribution
Now, let’s say that you wanted to add a link in here. Say you wanted to say, “Designed by the Artist always known as Kim Carney”, she’s the graphic designer who designed this Barking Chihuahua Cafe. And I want to make that as a link to her site soo I’m going to use the link tool.
Let’s see, millercarneymiller.com so there’s my link tag, copy that, come on over here and place it. Then I think what I’m going to do is put a return so br/. And then place that tag there so this will go below the “The Barking Chihuahua Cafe”. Save the options and refresh it.
Now you’ve got a copyright and “Designed by the Artist always known as Kim Carney”. If you click on that, it’ll take you to her website.
The point of demonstrating this is that the attribution box can actually take any kind of HTML you want really. If you don’t put anything in there, it’ll show the Thesis 1. In fact, you can make it go away if you want. Just go back to Content and back over to Miscellaneous and you can get rid of the WP Admin link which is down there at the bottom and the skin attribution. Say okay, save the display options. And now, all that stuff in that footer is gone.
But I want the attribution to stay though, I don’t want the link but I do want the attribution so I’m just going to keep that, save those options and we’ll have that.
