This is the 3rd in an 8 part series that shows how to customize the Next Post/Previous Post links in Thesis. In order to replace the next post and previous posts links with images we first have to remove the Thesis Next Post/Previous Post filters.
If instead of that, what we want to do is we want to do the link then the only way for us to do that is to create our own links here. And we can do that… so let’s go ahead and do that. Let’s try this another way.
The first thing we have to do then is we have to… from this, we have to remove the Thesis post navigation and Thesis post navigation is hooked to… let’s just see what that’s hooked to. I’m going to show you how this… when you have this inside of a NetBeans project, how nice this is. Come over to that library and find this Thesis post navigation… okay, so it’s under Launch, it’s Add Action Thesis hook after content Thesis post navigation. So what we really want to do here is we’re just going to copy this, go back to custom functions php, paste it but instead of add action, it’s going to be remove action Thesis hook after content Thesis post navigation. And then what we’re going to replace it with is our own function.
And so, we’re going to create a function and that’s going to be… and actually, if we save that right now, you’ll see those links go away, right? We come back over here, refresh this and then look at our post… oh, let’s try that again. Did I fail to upload it? Maybe I did. Upload, remove action Thesis hook after content Thesis post navigation. Okay, let’s take a look at launch php. Oh, it’s the other one. It’s this one here, Thesis previous next post is actually the code that we want to remove. Let’s go look at that Thesis previous next post for just a second.
Thesis previous next post, apply filters and still previous text. Yeah so we’re just going to go ahead and do that one too. Okay so now we remove both of those, save the document, upload the document, test the document. Okay, there we go. It’s gone now.
